Sega published a new trailer for its upcoming third person action game.
It is developed as a new IP from Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi.
It's coming out in 2012.


In my opinion it looks like Gears of War with robots  and crazy japanese cutscenes.

Youtube might get into Cloud Based Game Market.

Now that Onlive is out we're seeing that more companies are joining into the Cloud market.

Since Technology is moving towards mobile devices,maybe it's a good solution since  there's no need for horsepower and hence battery lives longer.But hardware manufactures still release new CPUs for smartphones.Dual Core processors for a small device,that's too much.Battery won't last long enough to play a hardware intense game.As they add more and more cores to the processor they will become more energy hungry.Nvidia is planning to release a quad core Tegra proccessor.The idea to have a portable computer right in your pocket is a really good idea.But i don't imagine Crysis running on an Iphone and that's where Cloud Gaming comes in hand.

Gaikai's launched this February with Dead Space 2,Mass Effect 2,Spore and Sims 3.Founded by David Perry(Earthworm Jim 1 & 2).Gaikai doesn't need any plugins at all,just Flash and Javascript.For Onlive you need to download a plugin.

Gamestop mainly  video game  and entertainment software retailer bought Spawn Labs and Impulse.More companies are trying to get a piece of the marketshare.

I think it makes sense for Youtube to get into Cloud Based Game Market.How many Gamers visit Youtube to see a new game trailer.They opened a movie store,even if it's not available worldwide.Youtube's parent company Google has a lot of resources behind its back.With so many people visiting Youtube,they could become a dominant player in the market and Google's agreement with Sony about Playstation Suite makes it possible for some exclusives.

Rage is going to ship with a level editor.

It looks like Rage's going to ship with mod tools after all.

That's good news for modders.

CryEngine SDK

Crytek's going to release this November CryEngine SDK and it will be free.It's going to compete again UDK from EPIC.So the big question is what's better?Now i'm using UDK,because i can import Blender assets with the fbx importer, but if CryEngine SDK uses it's proprietary importer and you need a plugin,it won't be that  appetizing.

There's a new interview with Skyrim's game director Todd Howard at IGN.There are also some gameplay moments, as you can see it looks better than Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

There's a new video and it looks very impressive.
CD project RED engine does a very good job.
It's coming out for PC this May 17.
So far there are no console announcements but there's chance since they showed a demo on PC using Xbox 360 controller and they're not ruling out a console port.

Kalypso release a new trailer for its upcoming third person action game.

Games main hero is Celian and its about the templars.

So far the game isn't that impressing.

Gametrailers posted a very good video i have to say,it's so nostalgic,i miss old times when i used to play Ultimate MK3 on Genesis.

Perfect reason to buy a console,but if it comes for PC then better.

CAPCOM enters intro Triple A RPG combat.

It looks like Capcom wants to compete in the RPG realm.

Capcom's gonna face a very tough competition againt Bethesda,Bioware,CD Project.

Even if it comes out early 2012 Capcom has to convince that it's a good action rpg game.

It's using Capcom's proprietary MT Framework game engine,the same engine that powered Resident Evil 5,Lost Planet 2 .

The game  begins with a dragon attacking villages and then captures main hero's heart and tells him if he wants to get it back he has to to follow his dogma and to find him.

It has vast open spaces where can wander.

There are also cities and one of the main cities  has over 200 NPC's that are fully-voiced with their own time -cycle.

It's a radical departure for Capcom and I'd like to see them succeed.

Since RE5 came out on PC,so did Lost Planet 2 with DirectX 11 support.There's a chance for a PC release.

Hideo Kojima Likes Battlefield 3 trailer

It looks like Battlefield 3 trailer made a very good  impression on Kojima-san.He's the one who created Metal Gear Solid series.

Unfortunately for those who play on PC didn't have the opportunity to play those games,because MGS 2 was a very cheap port,there's wasn't a proper mouse and keyboard support.MGS 3 never came out on PC nor did MGS 4.If this is a sign,i really hope we'll see more games coming out on PC by Kojima-san's team.

Crytek talks about CryEngine 3

There's a good article at Eurogamer. Crytek's talking about CryEngine  3 and why consoles can't handle Crysis.The difference between CryEngine 2 and CryEngine 3,etc.It was really  interesting to read.

Dice to Focus on the PC with Battlefield 3

Speaking on Nvidia's Geforce site,Battlefield 3 Executive Producer has stated that consoles are holding PC gaming back and it's time to focus on the PC.

Do you feel the consoles are holding PC?

It's true. There's no looking back. Historically, we've always been more or less, you could say… we've been forced to build our own engines. There's no engine you could buy today that could build a Battlefield game to the quality that we're building Battlefield games. It's actually quite a complicated process to build a Battlefield game cause you are more or less picking the hardest thing to build, big open landscapes with quite high detail when you zoom in on it, it's an infantry ground focused game, but there are also air vehicles and they all need to work together and then you have all the physics involved with all the trajectories and bullets in the air and that has to be synced over a network and then all the players need to see what you're seeing. There's a lot of stuff going on in the background as well. We are extremely focused on making it look great.

It took too long for the developers to tell that.

When will we see some real DirectX 11 stuff?

This year Epic released a video demonstrating what is Unreal Engine 3 capable of.Showing what's gonna bring DirectX 11 to the table.The problem is that they were running using 3  Nvidia GTX 580 cards.If we take the price of the cheapest which is 489$.It's gonna cost 1467$,only the video cards and we're not counting the CPU,RAM and Motherboard.Well, i forgot to mention about the  power supply,i think at least you'll need 1.5kW power supply and it will cost you  1000$ and the other thing is i don't know if they were running on a workstation,if that's so then the only thing i can say is "Oh crap".
              
                                                                              
                                                                                    What's all the fuzz about DirectX 11?
In my opinion DirectX is all about tessellation.Real time displacement mapping,more detail for gamers.








Unfortunately there are not that many games that use DirectX 11 or i should say too few actually.Just head http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_DirectX_11_support and you'll see.Just to notice any difference you'll need a microscope.If you look back at 2005 when Splinter Cell Chaos theory came out,it was one of the first games that supported DirectX 9.0c or Shader Model 3 and let's look at Crysis 2.
They're both based on DirectX 9.0c.

Battlefield 3 is one of the first games that's gonna be DirectX 11 focused and it won't run on Windows XP,that's what DICE is saying.
Now imagine few years later after Battlefield 3 is released.Games are gonna look better,that's a  fact but will they get better?

Blender 2.5 is finally out!!!

Now we are talking business.

Came out yesterday and the thing is it's a very powerful tool for a free program.

If you haven't seen what it is capable of,you should watch Sintel.I have been using Blender for a year,and i can say it's a big step forward over Blender 2.4.

One thing i really have to mention is the User Interface.It's absolutely phenomenal compared to the old versions.It's more intuitive,easier to understand and more enjoyable to work with.

Combining Blender with Gimp,you get a very good package for 3D modelling and Texturing.

You can also export models to UDK(Unreal Development kit).It's just something i created using Blender,Gimp for Texturing and all rendered in UDK.

I rate Blender 2.57   9 out of 10.
